• R-Design and Cross Country versions launched at Paris Show
• Sporty R-Design model will cost from £22,295
• Rugged 4×4-styled Cross Country starts at £22,595
Volvo has confirmed prices for two new versions of its V40 hatchback. The sporty R-Design model will cost from £22,295, while the 4×4-style Cross Country will cost from £22,595.
The R-Design, which was unveiled at the recent Paris Show, stands out from other models in the range with a unique bodykit, 17-inch alloy wheels and silver door mirrors. Inside, it has nubuck upholstery, a sports steering wheel and aluminium trim.
Beyond the standard specification, buyers can also specify a Lux package, which adds bending xenon headlights, leather-faced seats, cruise control, keyless start and ‘theatre’ lighting in the rear.
Prices for the V40 R-Design run from £22,295 for the D2-engined model to £31,390 for the T5 Geartronic R-Design Lux Nav.
Meanwhile, the V40 Cross Country – which was also unveiled at Paris – is a more rugged take on the V40 theme. Compared to the regular car, it has 40mm of extra ground clearance and hill descent control, but four-wheel-drive is only available on the range-topping T5 model.
Among the standard kit on every model are autofolding door mirrors with ground lights and black covers, 16-inch alloy wheels, tread plates and silver roof rails. As on the R-Design model, an optional Lux package is also available, adding leather-faced upholstery, active bending xenon headlights and larger alloy wheels.
Prices for the V40 Cross Country range run from £22,595 for the D2 Cross Country SE, with the most expensive model – the T5 Geartronic Cross Country Lux Nav with All-Wheel Drive – costing £33,875.
Both the V40 R-Design and Cross Country are available to order now, with first deliveries expected in January next year.
